Welcome to this celebration of Donovan's ecstatic concert and pre-concert surprise dinner with his fans on October the fifth, 2002 At The Tabernacle, Mount Tabor, NJ. "People come from miles around to hear the music maker...."

What a magical, enchanted evening it was! Fans gathered from far and wide, from as far afield as Kentucky and Chicago, from Boston and Ohio, to bask in the radiance of our favorite troubadour. Some two dozen or more members of the Catch the Wind e-mail list met at the Rattlesnake Ranch Cafe down the hill from At The Tabernacle a few hours before show time to share dinner, memories, memorabilia, and goodwill. But little did we expect the bard himself to appear at our tables on the patio, to spend an hour or more chatting with us, telling stories, signing autographs, posing for photos, and generally making us feel like the luckiest people in the world. (Read more about our Rattlesnake Ranch Incident....)

After the wonderment of that enchanted encounter, we all began to wend our way up the hill to At The Tabernacle, the 19th century Episcopal-Methodist congregational hall which has become a 21st century venue seating about 300. There we stood in line, timelessly awaiting the opening of the doors and the concert to come. Soon we were settled inside, hands stamped "Air Mail" (because that's how Donovan came to us, they said), and the excitement bubbled over. Following a short, humorous musical stit for aging boomers by Mark Dacey ("talkin' 'bout mmmmyyyy medication"), on came the opening act, Richard Barone, who delighted us with several songs culminating with the Donovanesque "Numbers with Wings" from his days with The Bongos in the 1980s. Richard then left the stage and on came Donovan.... (Read more about the At The Tabernacle Concert....)

Several folks have contributed their photos to this website, some of which are scattered through the other pages. But knowing you want more, more, more, here's the Donovan At The Tabernacle Photo Gallery.

Secondly, thanks to LadyO for her loving and tireless efforts in organizing and moderating the Catch the Wind e-mail list and related efforts, and her dear friendship. And of course a special thanks to Donovan for giving so much of himself to us, his loving and very demanding fans (more, more, more...)!
